I designed a photography book for the Columbia College Chicago Press about the Chicago River. The book features photography by Richard Wasserman with an essay by Julia S. Bachrach. The interior of the book is kept pretty simple with large full page photos. The essay, notes on the plates, and additional information is all housed in the back.
The front cover features a full bleed image with an overall dull varnish. The title, printed with a metallic, is also spot gloss varnished to help it pop off the background. The back cover also uses an overall dull varnish. The inset photo and the main Chicago River in the illustration are both spot gloss varnished.
